Embracing a New Journey Together

Welcome back to school! Although the calendar says September, I always feel a strong urge to wish you all a "Happy New Year" at this time. Seeing how quickly and smoothly everyone has settled back into the daily school routine brings me immense pride.

This year, I want to give a special mention to our Secondary 1 freshmen. Since the summer, they have stepped well out of their comfort zones to meet new peers and tackle unfamiliar environments. They recently participated in an adventurous day camp designed to groom their resilience, and they proved to be remarkably brave. I was deeply moved to see them solving problems collaboratively and lifting each other up at every turn.

A new academic year always brings a flurry of excitement and excellent opportunities for a fresh start. By now, I hope you have found the answers to the questions that always mark the beginning of a term: getting to know your new class teachers, catching up with friends in your classrooms, adjusting to your new timetables, and deciding which extracurricular clubs or sports teams to join. While adapting to these changes can feel demanding at first, remember that stepping into the unfamiliar is a vital catalyst for personal growth.

As Kinglingers, we must continuously live out our core values of Knowledge, Leadership, and Chivalry, both on and off campus. We acquire subject knowledge within our classrooms to actively apply these theories to our daily lives. We hone our leadership skills by stepping up to guide others in school activities. Finally, we embody chivalry by carrying the noble spirit of knights—always ready to respect one another, protect our home, and remain devoted to serving the wider community.

Though I will miss the quiet days of summer, I have missed your smiling faces, your energy, and the vibrant cheering on our campus much more. I wish each and every one of you a fruitful, challenging, and amazing year ahead. Let us step forward into this new journey with confidence.
