United We Stand

Hong Kong has faced a difficult time dealing with this real tragedy. Healing and recovery take time, but I sincerely hope that all victims and their families find peace soon. Even though there are some heart-breaking cases, Hong Kong is absolutely full of positivity. Beyond the quick actions of the Government, our brave firefighters, paramedics, and other professionals, it was the incredible kindness of our society that shone through. Fundraisers and donations poured in day and night. This effort showed the magnanimous nature of our city.

Resilience is a trait that we all need, and it is a skill that Kinglingers should nurture. We must be strong enough to work through the pain and keep moving forward. There is no quick fix for healing when grieving — the time it takes is totally personal. The most important thing we can do now is treasure what we have and actively show love and compassion to our beloved ones.

Family is our root, the stable ground that supports us to grow into endless possibilities. But our support network is so much bigger. Our friends are the branches and leaves—they share our journey, offer shade when we need a break, and celebrate every new bloom. They are the ones who truly get us.

I recommend you all to pause for a minute and reach out to family and friends. Send a quick message, make a silly face across the lunch table, give a genuine "thank you" to your family or give them a hug. YOU must act to show your love NOW. Let them know how much they mean to you. At the same time, never underestimate the power of yourself. Being there for your loved ones is the greatest gift you can give, especially when times are tough.

Make good use of your holiday to spend quality time with your family and friends.
